Step 10. The Activity Chairmen conduct activities:  They prepare activity plans, with help of consultants as needed, and using the Activity Planning Worksheet.  They present plans in Crew meetings for approval.  They carry out the activity.  They do an evaluation.

(Chris)  Finally we get to the best part, the activities.  The guy who is the activity chairman leads and carries out the whole process.

The chairman for a particular activity makes a plan.  He may have help from an adult consultant and from other members of the Crew.

He should write his plans on the Activity Planning Worksheet and use this when he presents the plans at the Crew meeting , for approval.

Then when the night comes for the activity, he leads it.

At the next Crew Meeting, the activity chairman helps evaluate how well the activity came off.  So he gets to see how the whole planning process works: Plan, Implement, Evaluate--easy as PIE.

I think this process really allows our Crew members the chance to practice their leadership skills.  And do you know why?  Because following the whole Venturing process puts the leadership in our hands. Our advisors think of themselves as support for boy leaders, not as leaders of the Crew.
